Sarah’s Patisserie, Ithaca, NY

This is a ‘new’ patisserie in the commons, and by “new” I mean it wasn’t around when I was last here! Much of the Ithacan landscape has changed, particularly Valentine place, as well as on meadow street and up by the mall (Kyushu is no longer there! It’s been replaced by a place called Mitsuya or something, which I haven’t tried).

The interior is really nicely done up in turquoise and has a spacious seating area for you to have a tea or coffee. Definitely the desserts look a lot more tempting than at the Starbucks around the corner.

Here’s an entire case of assorted chocolates – truffles, cremes, everything you can think of. They carry macarons and cakes too.

LZ wanted to try the burnt orange macaron – their macarons are pretty well done and not too sweet. I liked the chocolates as well but would have preferred more buttercream in their fillings instead of just ganaches. I bought a chocolate dome here but did not get to try it since C had bought Wegman’s Ultimate Chocolate cake for my birthday and there was a dessert deluge in her house which resulted in us not having the stomach space to eat the chocolate dome.

This is a great place to buy a giftbox for someone with a sweet tooth. The two cracked cookies in the picture above are their mint chocolate fudge cookies, which were delicious.
